PEDI 419 - PEDIATRICS PRIMARY ACTING INTERNSHIP

Each student functions as an intern in the evaluation and management of hospitalized pediatric patients under the direct supervision of house officers and faculty. Rotation objectives focus on the improvement of clinical judgment, medical decision making, and systems-based practice. Evaluations are based on day-to-day observations by faculty while the students perform assigned duties. This experience is offered at Children’s Hospital of New Orleans through Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine and Hematology-Oncology. Additional options include PICU, NICU or a rotation combination of any of the following: [PHM, HEME-ONC, PICU, NICU]. Primary Als are also offered at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge.
