MCLIN 155 - LATINE HEALTH HONORS PROGRAM - YEAR 1

This is the first in a series of courses required for the Latine Health Scholars Honors Track, a program that aims to increase the number of healthcare providers who have proficiency in medical Spanish and the skills and understanding necessary to work toward reducing barriers and improving healthcare for the increasing population of patients with limited English proficiency. The course is comprised of monthly seminars for linguistic and cultural engagement and clinical shadowing experiences. Students will practice medical Spanish skills in role plays during the monthly seminars. In order to receive a passing grade for the course, students must attend all seminars, complete a minimum of one clinical shadowing experience, complete one written reflection, and uphold all school expectations regarding professional behavior.
