ONCO 206 - SIGNAL TRANSDUCTION AND METABOLISM IN CANCER[3 Credits] The course will cover the molecular basis of cancer development and how cancer cell signaling networks are altered. Molecular mechanisms on the changes that cancer cells can induce in nearby normal tissue, as well as the new relationship established between cancer cells and the stroma are discussed. The course will also cover the topics of epigenetic and metabolic reprogramming of cancer cells and the integration of those changes with signaling pathways. The course will conclude with an overview of cancer therapies and how medical treatments can be tailored to individual patients.
