[1 Credit]
The course is designed to cross-pollinate and expose students to distinct aspects of cancer research. Where possible, articles for discussion will be those from upcoming oncology-related seminar speakers in order to encourage active listening and participation in the seminar series. The course will focus on tumor biology, cancer disease progression, metastasis, cancer immunology, cancer metabolism, population sciences in cancer research and epidemiology, and infectious and non-infectious cancer etiologies. Presenters will be tasked to synthesize the rationale behind the presented work to be capable of facilitating in-depth and interactive discussions of methods and approaches, as well as results and interpretation. The goal is to develop refined peer-to-peer communication and evaluation in preparation for careers as lecturers, mentors, and reviewers/writers of scientific content.
