EPID 6301 - EPIDEMIOLOGY OF SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS AND DISEASES[3 Credits] Designed for doctoral and master’s degree students, this course covers the theories and methodologies related to the epidemiology of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Students will gain an understanding of important issues in the epidemiology of HIV and STIs in the US and internationally, and will increase their understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of various epidemiologic study designs and the interpretation of data. Also addressed will be implications for transmission, prevention, and the psychosocial, behavioral, and economic aspects of STIs, particularly HIV. Prerequisites: EPID 6210 and BIOS 6100
