The goal of the graduate program in genetics is to provide the student with the skills and expertise necessary for a successful research career through course work, seminars, and laboratory research. Core course work covers a variety of topics in human, molecular and medical genetics, gene therapy and epigenetics and can be designed for the individual needs of each student. Faculty members have a broad range of research interests including identification, characterization, and functional studies of disease genes, gene therapy, genetic epidemiology, precision medicine, and genetic education.
