RN to MSN Concentration

The RN to MSN Track is for the highly motivated qualified nurse who wishes to pursue advanced coursework in nursing. The curriculum meets the requirements of the Board of Regents and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. The non-traditional course delivery focuses on the augmentation of existing teaching/learning strategies with web-based internet applications, weekend scheduling and flexible clinical instruction. RN’s completing this program receive a baccalaureate equivalency facilitating graduates meeting the Louisiana State Board of Nursing requirement for persons interested in teaching in Louisiana Schools of Nursing.

LSUHSC School of Nursing Master of Nursing, Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Adult/Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist, Public/Community Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Nursing Administration concentrations have had a major curriculum change from the awarding of a Master of Nursing degree to a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree for these graduate concentrations. Applicants to these programs for the summer 2014 class will be admitted to a BSN to DNP curriculum.

Admissions to the RN to MSN Program will continue.
